Metro Midsayap Water District (MMWD) Quiz Bowl Competition 2016

The best contenders from the different schools in the Municipalities of Midsayap and Libungan were invited to participate in the Metro Midsayap Water District’s Science and Math Quiz Bowl Competition 2016 last December 13, 2016. The said activity was part of the week-long celebration of the MMWD 35th founding anniversary and has the objective to enhance the intellectual capabilities of Junior High School students in water related facts. Thirteen (13) schools accepted the challenge to compete and aimed to be the first Local Champion of the MMWD Science and Math Quiz Bowl, to wit:

  2. Villarica High School
  3. Libungan High School
  4. Notre Dame of Libungan
  5. Notre Dame of Midsayap College -IBED
  6. Mary’s Academy of Midsayap
  7. Salunayan High School
  8. i-Link College of Science and Technology
  9. JudeCollege of Science and Technology
  10. Arizona High School
  11. Katingawan Adventist Academy
  12. Agriculture High School.
  13. Elpidio Singco High School

 

The elimination round has 3 categories, the easy round, average round and the difficult round. The tallied score for the first round revealed the top five (5) and proceeded to the semi-final round. At the end of the semi-final round, two schools have taken their seats on the clincher round and they are the Southern Christian College and the St. Mary’s Academy of Midsayap.

Out of the ten difficult questions in the clincher round, Ms. Ira Li M. Antonio of Southern Christian College got 3 points and was declared as the 1st runner-up and Mr. Adrian Reister G. Fernandez of St. Mary’s Academy got 5 points and was declared as the grand Champion of the Science and Math Quiz Bowl Competition 2016 and will represent the MMWD to the Regional Level which will be held in Davao City.
